Katie & Ryne's wedding was my first visit to the Lewis Family Farm, and it could not have been a better introduction. A crisp fall day greeted us which was perfect for a couple that wanted nothing else but to be wrapped up in each other’s arms. Katie and Ryne are some of the sweetest people and I feel honored that they let me be part of their special day.
I have always been a big fan of epic landscape shots and do my best to include a few each wedding I shoot. In my opinion they do a fantastic job of setting the scene and help to capture the essence of the day. Plus I just think they are awesome! Bamburgh Castle made for the perfect setting for epic engagement photos. The castle was built around 550AD and seriously rocks. It took some time to walk around the entire structure since it was larger than Hogwarts, but it’s medieval architecture made our long walk an entertaining one. The path that we followed cut through the sand dunes and along the beach. It would have been the perfect location for a picnic, hike, or just a day by the water….if it wasn’t the middle of January. Thankfully, inclement weather did not damper the awesomeness inherent in the colossal stone walls of the castle or within Brittany and Lew as a couple. I know it looks like the white sands of Aruba in some of the photographs, but it’s really snow; snow that started to fall again almost exactly when Brittany stepped out of the car and was ready to go.
